About Ossidex

Ossidex is a DICOM viewer for iPhone and iPad, built by a small independent team. It started in 2026 under the name MedScan and was renamed Ossidex in September 2026 — same app, same developer. Our goal is simple: whatever disc, archive or link a clinic hands you, it should open on the device in your pocket.

What we build

A professional-grade viewer for CT, dental CBCT and MRI that works where desktop viewers do not: at the chair, on a ward round, at home, on the road. Dentists use the panoramic arch and cross-sections; radiologists and other clinicians use MPR and PACS access for a quick look away from the workstation; patients use the free 2D viewer to see their own scans.

How we work

  • Real-world files first. Most “it won’t open” problems come from unusual discs and archives. We collect anonymized examples of failing layouts (only with permission) and add support release by release.
  • Listening to clinicians. Features such as the editable arch, cloud-link import and discs with Windows-only viewers came directly from dentists’ and radiologists’ feedback.
  • Automated testing. Every release runs thousands of automated tests, including decoding of public DICOM sample sets and end-to-end import tests.
  • Privacy by design. Images are processed on the device. There is no account and no image upload to our servers.

What Ossidex is not

It is not implant-planning or surgical-guide software, and it does not replace a diagnostic workstation where one is required.
