Free online DICOM viewer

Open DICOM files directly in your browser, adjust contrast and scroll through slices. Reconstruct compatible series in MPR. Your files are processed on this device.

Open your scan

Drop DICOM files, a study folder or a ZIP here.

Your scans stay on your device. No upload, sign-up or installation.

2D viewing

Scroll slices, adjust window and level, select CT presets, zoom, pan and invert. Open multiple series from a folder or ZIP.

Multiplanar reconstruction

Linked axial, sagittal and coronal views for regular monochrome series with complete geometry. Drag the crosshair to navigate linked views, rotate reference lines for oblique planes, and adjust slab projections.

The Ossidex viewer

The same core for parsing, pixel decoding and MPR as the Ossidex codebase, adapted to a browser. 3D, dental arch, measurements and export are available in the iPhone/iPad app.

Free browser viewer and Ossidex Pro

2D and MPR are free in this browser. Ossidex Pro for iPhone and iPad adds 3D, dental arch, measurements, export and the full native study workflow. Native MPR on your own studies requires Pro; the app demo lets you explore the advanced modes.

Supported files and current limits

DICOM Part 10 and extensionless image files; folders and unencrypted ZIP archives. Uncompressed little/big-endian, JPEG baseline, JPEG Lossless, JPEG-LS and single-frame JPEG 2000 images. Classic multi-frame images can be viewed in 2D.

This first browser release does not support multi-frame JPEG 2000, RLE, deflated DICOM, Enhanced functional groups, palette images, presentation LUTs or NIfTI. A DICOMDIR alone contains no scan pixels: open the whole study folder. MPR needs at least two matching single-frame images with regular spacing; mixed orientations, missing slices and gantry shear are rejected.

Up to 2,000 files, 64 MiB per image file and 512 MiB selected in total. ZIP expansion is limited to 256 MiB. Desktop MPR keeps the demo at its original resolution; large studies and phones may use a visibly marked reduced-resolution MPR with corrected pixel spacing. Available device memory may impose a lower limit. Try a demo loads the same 200-slice dental CBCT shown in the Ossidex app (about 30 MB), with identifying metadata removed.

For viewing and education. This browser release is not validated for diagnostic use. Ask your radiologist to interpret findings.
