Weasis is a free, open-source DICOM viewer for Windows, macOS and Linux, often launched from hospital web portals. There is no Weasis app for iPhone or iPad. Moving a study from Weasis to an iPad
Weasis is usually launched from a hospital portal with a weasis:// link or pointed at a PACS. On an iPad that link does nothing; instead, use the portal’s download option (often a ZIP) or ask for a share link, and import it in Ossidex. What Ossidex imports — disc folders, archives, share links and DICOMweb — is listed on cloud-link import and formats.
Who should pick which
- Hospital staff on Windows, Mac or Linux workstations: Weasis, especially if the portal launches it.
- Clinicians on ward rounds or at home: Ossidex on iPad, with studies downloaded once and read offline.
